Course Outline

If you have to store your handgun in your vehicle or in someone else’s, you should make sure that it is concealed according to state law. You should also have a plan to secure your handgun from unauthorized persons, such as friends or family, children, and people with permission to access your vehicle.

  • Passengers in your vehicle may have access to your handgun. Be sure to restrict access to the handgun by locking it in a safe and storing it away from the passengers.
  • In some cases, you may give people permission to access your vehicle, such as a mechanic or a valet. Although they have your permission to access the vehicle, it does not mean that they are authorized to access your handgun. Be sure to keep the handgun locked and stored safely.
  • Be aware of where you park your vehicle. Make sure the location is safe and secure.
