Course Outline

In public places, your handgun may be exposed to a great number of people, such as friends or family, general public, and children. When carrying and storing your handgun in public places, you should make sure that you have a plan to secure your handgun from unauthorized persons. Some public places where you might carry or store your handgun are gyms, restaurants, and hotels.

  • You can use the provided storage options at those locations to lock and store your handgun. At the gym, you can use the locker, and in the hotel, you can use the safe. These options help prevent unauthorized access to the handgun.
  • You should be aware of the security of where you are storing the handgun. Even if you follow proper storage practices, you may not be able to prevent theft. Therefore, before storing your handgun, evaluate the situation and determine if the handgun will be secured in that location.
